HANGZHOU, October 2023 — The eight-day Mid-Autumn and National Day holiday concluded with a nationwide boom in domestic tourism. According to FANJIA's 2023 Corporate Employee Mid-Autumn & National Day Holiday Travel Report, orders placed through the platform during the 2023 holiday rose 257.3% compared with the same period in 2022. Consumption driven by WorkBee reached RMB 210 million, representing a 60% increase over the May Day holiday.

The extended break drove a marked rise in cross-provincial and long-distance travel. FANJIA's report shows rapid growth in bookings for long-haul domestic trips and outbound travel. Outbound orders jumped nearly 6.5 times compared with the May Day period. Average trip duration increased substantially, with more travelers opting for itineraries of five days or longer. Nearly 30% of users took extra leave to start trips early or delay their return.

Top 10 domestic destinations:​ Beijing, Xi'an, Chengdu, Chongqing, Shanghai, Changsha, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Wuhan.

Top 5 international destinations:​ Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, Singapore, United Kingdom.

By industry, the top three sectors for business trips were Electronics / Semiconductors / Integrated Circuits, Insurance, and Funds / Securities / Futures / Investment. Travel volume from the New Energy / Electrical & Power industry also saw notable growth versus May Day.

By travel volume, the five fastest-growing destinations were Kunming, Urumqi, Lanzhou, Lijiang and Lhasa. Trending keywords for this holiday included "Asian Games," "city walk," "music festivals" and "frontier travel." Long-distance trips to experience frontier landscapes, visiting Hangzhou for the Asian Games, and attending long-awaited music festivals became new seasonal trends.
